Key
board functions
ESC à it
depends upon the application software; usually it is used for cancel or escape
a command.
BACKSPACE KEY à it is used to erase a character to
the left side of the keyboard cursor position.
TAB à it is used to keep eight space
between two character or we can set our tab.
SPACEBAR à it is used to keep single space
between two (2) characters. It is the longest key in the keyboard.
SHIFT KEY à it is used to insert upper symbol
from the keyboard keys having two symbols or double characters. It is also used
to capitalize letter without activating Caps lock button.
CAPS LOCK à it is used to toggle
between capital character and small characters.
CTRL KEY à it is used for different
purpose in different package. It is also called a co-ordinate key.
ALT KEY à it is used for activating
Menu bar and panes of most of packages. It is also used for different purpose
in different packages. It is also called a co-ordinate key.
NUM LOCK àit is used to activate the
numerical keys on the numerical keypad situated on the right side of the
keyboard.
INSERT KEY à it is used to insert
character at the current cursor position.
DEL à it is used to delete character at the
current cursor position.
HOME KEY à it moves the keyboard
cursor at the beginning of the line.
END KEY à it moves the keyboard
cursor at the end of the line.
PAGE UP à it is used to move the page
in upward direction.
PAGE DOWN à it is used to move the page
in downward direction.
CURSOR KEYS à it is used to move the
keyboard cursor in the direction indicated like up, down, right, left.
PRINT SCREEN àit is used to print whatever
is displaying on the screen.
ENTER à it is used to
communicate the end of an instruction like OK or SAVE or OPEN etc… it is also
used to move the keyboard cursor to the new line.
