hi everyone, as we all know keyboards are the most important input device in a computer system. but lot of people are there who still on't know how to use a keyboard.. specially for them i have posted this post. i hope it will be useful for u guys...

USING THE KEYBOARD
Keyboard is an important part of the computer. It an example of input device. A keyboard looks similar like a typewriter, the small buttons are called KEYS, and you can type letters, numbers by simply pressing these keys.

The different types of keys on the keyboard are: -
1.    Alphabets keys
2.    Function keys
3.    Special keys
4.    Number keys
5.    Arrow keys

ALPHABET keys àon the keyboard you can see keys marked with the English alphabets from A to Z. these keys are known as ALPHABET keys.
(Alphabet keys are not arranged in order from A to Z)

NUMBER keys à the keys marked with numbers 0 to 9 are called number keys. You can either number keys which are at the top of the keyboard or the numeric keypad which is on the right hand side of the keyboard to type numbers.

FUNCTION keys àat the top of the keyboard you can see keys marked with F1, F2… upto F12. These keys are called FUNCTION keys. These are used to perform special functions.

ARROW keys à the keys those are marked with arrow signs are called ARROW keys. The four keys are RIGHT, LEFT, UP and DOWN arrow keys, they are used for moving the keyboard cursor on the screen. These ARROW keys are also called CURSOR CONTROL KEYS or CURSOR MOVEMENT KEYS.

SPECIAL keys à there are some tasks which cannot be done by the keys you have learned before; these tasks required the help of some other keys. These keys are called SPECIAL keys. They work in combination with other keys. Some of the special keys present on the keyboard are:
Alt, Enter/Return, Backspace, Esc, Caps lock, Shift, Spacebar, Ctrl, Delete, Tab
